Perks

Perks are Abilities, Skills and Talents not covered by the other character aspects, like Skills, Attributes and Stats. They represent a more specific trait of the character and can more deeply differentiate a character from another.
A character starts play with 2 Perks. He gains another perk at second level and each even Level thereafter.

Tough Hide:
Prerequisites: Resilience 1 or higher.

Increase the Pilots Zoid’s Durability by 1 when targeted by a status affliction.

Cockroach:
Prerequisites: Tough Hide, Resilience 1 or higher

Increase the Pilots Zoid’s Durability by 2 when targeted by a status affliction. This replaces Tough Hide.

Impervious:
Prerequisites: Cockroach, Resilience 2 or higher

Increase the Pilots Zoid’s Durability by 3 when targeted by a status affliction. This replaces Cockroach

Juggernaut:
Prerequisites: Impervious, Resilience 2 or higher

Increase the Pilots Zoid’s Durability by 5 when targeted by a status affliction. This replaces Impervious.


Ultra Reactions:
Prerequisites: Reflexes 1 or higher

Increase the Pilots Initiative by 4

Ultra Reactions Level 2:
Prerequisites: Ultra Reactions

Increase the Pilots Initiative by 8. This replaces Ultra Reactions.

Ultra Reactions Level 3:
Prerequisites: Ultra Reactions Level 2, Reflexes 3 or higher

Increase the Pilots Initiative by 12. This replaces Ultra Reactions 2


Conservative Firing:
Prerequisites: Accuracy 1 or higher.

Reduce EP usage of “Gun” or “Missile” weapons by 10%, rounded down.

Shell Saver:
Prerequisites: Accuracy 2 or higher, Conservative Firing.

Reduce EP usage of “Gun” or “Missile” weapons by 30%, rounded down. This replaces Conservative Firing.

Dead-Eye:
Prerequisites: Accuracy 4 or higher, Shell Saver.

Reduce EP usage of “Gun” or “Missile” weapons by 50%, rounded down. This replaces Shell Saver.


Conservative Fighting:
Prerequisites: Accuracy 1 or higher

Reduce EP usage of “Grapple” weapons by 10%, rounded down.

Blade Master:
Prerequisites: Accuracy 2 or higher, Conservative Fighting.

Reduce EP usage of "Grapple" weapons by 30%, rounded down. This replaces Conservative Fighting.

Kensai:
Prerequisites: Accuracy 4 or higher, Blade Master.

Reduce EP usage of "Grapple" weapons by 50%, rounded down. This replaces Blade Master.


Multi-Fire Level 1
Prerequisites: Accuracy 3, Conservative Firing

During a turn you may make an additional “Gun” type weapon attack, if you have performed one before in your turn. You must have a Minor Action available to use this Perk.

Multi-Fire Level 2
Prerequisites: Accuracy 5, Conservative Firing, Multi-Fire Level 1

During your turn you may make 2 additional “Gun” type weapon attacks during your turn, if you have performed one such attack during your turn. You must have a Minor Action available to use this Perk.


Dual Swipe
Prerequisites: Accuracy 3, Conservative Fighting

During your turn you may perform an additional “Grapple” type attack, if you have performed such an attack during your turn. You must have a Minor Action available to use this Perk.

Dervish
Prerequisites: Accuracy 5, Conservative Fighting, Dual Swipe

During your turn you may make 2 additional “Grapple” type weapon attacks during your turn, if you have performed one such attack during your turn. You must have a Minor Action available to use this Perk.


Well Versed
Prerequisites: Intellect, Body and Dexterity Attribute at 5.

Increase all skill pools by 1 die.

Jack of all Trades
Prerequisites: Intellect, Body, and Dexterity Attribute at 7.

Increase all Skill Pools by 2 dice.

Perfectionist
Prerequisites: Intellect, Body, and Dexterity Attribute at 9.

Increase all Skill Pools by 3 dice.


Expert "Insert Chosen Weapon Type"
Prerequisites: Accuracy 2

Choose a weapon type when you take this Perk.
Ballistic
Grapple
Particle
Missile
Laser
Increase all damage pools by 1 die when you would deal damage.

Master "Insert Chosen Weapon Type"
Prerequisites: Accuracy 4, Expert

The chosen weapon pools damage is increased by 2 additional dice.


Bruiser
Prerequisites: Accuracy 1

Increase BWP by 2 of all your attacks.

Basher
Prerequisites: Bruiser, Body Attribute 5, Accuracy 2 or higher

Increase BWP by 6 of all your attacks. This replaces Bruiser.

Destroyer
Prerequisites: Basher, Body Attribute 10, Accuracy 3 or higher

Increase BWP by 10 of all your attacks, this replaces Basher


Tough One
Prerequisites: Resilience 1, Body Attribute 3

Decrease all damage sustained from direct attacks by 1.

Scaled
Prerequisites: Resilience 2, Body Attribute 5, Tough One

Decrease all damage sustained from direct attacks by 3. This replaces Tough One.

Bulwark
Prerequisites: Resilience 5, Body Attribute 10, Scaled

Decrease all damage sustained from direct attacks by 5. This replaces Iron Hide.


Pinning Master
Prerequisites: Body Attribute 6 or higher

When trying to engage a pin you must only exceed the foes evasion by 2 instead of 3.

Slippery Eel
Prerequisites: Body Attribute 4 or higher, Speed 1 or higher

The amount of successes necessary to engage a pin on you is raised by 2.

Shake Off
Prerequisites: Body Attribute 8 or higher, Resilience 1 or higher, Defend Skill 5 or higher.

When escaping a Pin, you may make a special triggered attack for free. This attack uses a Melee attack at BWP -2 and -1 Accuracy. If it is successful, you push the pinning opponent 1 square away in addition to dealing damage.

Improved Shake off
Prerequisites: Body Attribute 10 or higher, Resilience 3 or higher, Defend Skill 7 or higher, Shake Off.

When escaping a Pin, you may make a special triggered attack for free. This attack either uses a Melee attack at BWP -1, but no penalty to accuracy. If it is successful, you push the pinning opponent 1 square away in addition to dealing damage.


Sweeping Particle Beam
Prerequisites: Pilot a zoid with a Particle Beam “Gun” type weapon, Accuracy 3 or higher, Body Attribute of 8 or higher, Level 4 or higher.

When using a Particle Beam Weapon, you may give up your Minor Action to use this Perk. You may not move more than a Jaunt in this turn. Choose a Square Adjacent to you, then move 2 squares either left or right, also adjacent to you. The initial square plus the squares chosen are considered the origin of the Particle Beam. Once chosen you count the squares straight forward of the chosen squares up to the weapons maximum range. All squares are attacked at once; reduce BWP by 4 for this attack, and Accuracy by 1.


Zoid Expert
Prerequisites: Must pilot a Zoid of the chosen type.

Choose a type of zoid from the list below, when ever piloting a zoid of the chosen type you count as if your level was 3 higher than it actually is for the purpose of piloting the zoid effectively, for as long as you pilot the zoid. This perk may be chosen multiple times, each time it applies to a different type of zoid. Multiple variants of this perk stack, if a zoid has more than one type.

Zoid Master
Prerequisites: Zoid Expert, Level 4, must pilot a Zoid of the chosen type.

When ever you Pilot a Zoid of the chosen type, you count as if your level was 6 higher than it actually is for as long as you pilot the Zoid. This perk may be chosen multiple times, each time it applies to a different type of Zoid, previously chosen with Zoid Expert. Multiple variants of this perk stack, if a Zoid has more than one type. This replaces Zoid Expert of the chosen type.

Zoid Fanatic
Prerequisites: Zoid Master, Level 6, must pilot a zoid of the chosen type.

When ever you Pilot a Zoid of the chosen type, you count as if your level was 9 higher than it actually is for as long as you pilot the zoid. This perk may be chosen multiple times, each time it applies to a different type of zoid, previously chosen with Zoid Expert. Multiple variants of this perk stack, if a zoid has more than one type. This replaces Zoid Master of the chosen type.


Gifted
Prerequisites: May only be taken at character generation.

Reduce one of your pilots stats by 1, and increase another stat by 1. This perk may only be chosen once.

Latent Talent
Prerequisites: Level 6

Increase one of your Pilots Stats by 1. This Perk may only be chosen once.

Extraordinary Focus
Prerequisites: Level 10

Increase one of your Pilots Stats by 1. This Perk may only be chosen once.


Zoid's First Aid
Prerequisites: Intellect Attribute 6, Technology Skill Level 3, Repair Skill Level 3

When resting, you may attempt to repair a damaged Zoid. You need at least 2 hours of uninterrupted work, when that is completed roll your Repair Skill. For every Success the Zoid regains 3 HP

Zoid Medic
Prerequisites: Zoid's First Aid, Intellect Attribute 10, Technology and Repair Skill Level 5

When resting, you may attempt to repair a damaged Zoid. You need at least 2 hours of uninterrupted work, when that is completed roll your Repair Skill. For every Success the Zoid regains 5 HP.

Zoid Doctor
Prerequisites: Zoid Medic, Intellect Attribute 15, Technology and Repair Skill Level 7.

When resting, you may attempt to repair a damaged Zoid. You need at least 1 hours of uninterrupted work, when that is completed roll your Repair Skill. For every Success the Zoid regains 8 HP.


Zoid Birther
Prerequisites: Intellect Attribute 10 or higher, Technology Skill Level 5 or higher.

You may create Zoids from cores, if you are in possession of such a core. This process requires 2 weeks per size category of the Zoid to be created. To create a Zoid an appropriate Facility is required, depending on the size of the Zoid it may be necessary to acquire additional or a larger facility (I am looking at you fatso Death Saurer). The price for such a facility varies and is subject to the GM's ruling, but in most cases one can assume that prices for creating a Zoid are reduced 10 - 25%. Once created the facility becomes near unusable, unless one is to create an additional Zoid of the type that was created previously. In such a case the price is again reduced by an amount between 10 - 25%


Onslaught
Prerequisites: Body and Dexterity Attribute 4, Accuracy 1

When attacking with a weapon, you may reduce your Accuracy by a number of points equal to your level, up to a maximum of you Accuracy Stat. In case the attack hit you increase BWP and roll an extra amount of dice for extra damage equal to the chosen Penalty. You must state that you are using this Perk before rolling, and you must have a Minor Action available to you. If you have the perks Multi-Firing/Dual Swipe, you are granted an extra Minor Action to use these specific Perks.


Focused Attack
Prerequisites: Accuracy 2, Multi-Fire Level/Dual Swipe

If you would be able to use a second attack in the turn that you activate this Perk (that means you have both the Equipment and EP necessary to use said equipment) you may forgo your additional attacks for a +2 Accuracy and +6 BWP increase to your attack in that turn for each forgone attack, but the attack uses 20% more EP. The use of this perk requires a Minor Action to use.


Core Extractor
Prerequisites: Technology or Repair Skill Level 4, Intellect Attribute 6, Accuracy 2 or higher

Once a Zoid is defeated (It's Hp being 0 or below), the user may try to extract the Zoids Core, but only once for each Zoid. To do so one must either roll a pool of Technology or Repair skill, which ever is higher. The procedure is successful if the "Extractor" rolls a number of successes equal or more than the Zoid Level.

Core Surgeon
Prerequisites: Technology or Repair Skill Level 7, Intellect Attribute 12, Accuracy 3 or higher, Core Extractor

When using Core Extractor, one may re-roll a number of dice equal to their Accuracy Stat, adhering to the new dice result. Also if Technology or Repair is the higher stat, one may have an additional number of dice added to their respective pool equal to 1/2 the skill level of the other skill. (For Example a 6 in Technology and a 4 in Repair would mean that Core Extractor is rolled with 8 dice, 6 from Tech. and 1/2 of Repair being 2)


Same Field, Same Application
Prerequisites: Expert Skill Repair and Technology, Intellect Attribute 10 or higher

When rolling either Repair or Technology to deal with Zoids or Mechanical objects, one may have an additional number of dice added to their respective pool equal to 1/2 the skill level of the other skill. This stacks with other instances where 2 skills are concerned.
