Inei doesn't remember much of his past, he grew up on a mountain and that' s all he needed to know so far. He sometimes remembers loud noises, smoke and hectic, but nothing else. Maybe his family is dead, maybe he just got separated, he doesn't know. On that mountain he lived under the harsh conditions that nature sets before man. Freezing winters and wild Pokemon had more than once threatened Inei's life, but somehow he managed to surpass all opposition. And so he led a life as a gatherer and hunter until one day the Army Rangers had an advanced survival test. 7 days and nights on the mountain, finding food and shelter in the environment, and having to avoid being "Tagged" by a fellow participant. Seeing his hunting grounds in jeopardy, and not understanding the situation, Inei not only out-maneuvered many of the participants, he also subdued several before he was brought down on the 6th day of the test.
He was brought before Brigadier General Shenwood for interrogation, which was difficult due to the lack of language Inei displayed, somehow they managed though and Brig. Gen. Shenwood was intrigued by the survivalist and immediately drafted the man from the mountain. He has since gone steadily upwards, passing Base Training and Boot Camp with flying colors, and being accepted as a full fledged member of the rangers. Then one day, it's a few years after Inei joining the rangers, he was called to Brigadier General Shenwood's Office, something important.
"Inei", said the Brigadier General with a soft tone,"Don't misunderstand this now…I am not saying that you are losing your edge, but this life as an idle soldier is not for you. I can tell by the look in your eyes, it's too peaceful…to "Wimpy". Let's face it, being an army ranger is awesome and all, but without conflict we are just fiddling our thumbs, hoping for something to happen…you on the other hand survived more than a decade on a mountain from an age where most still ask for their mothers milk. The only reason I "leashed" you to the army rangers was so that I can see those "Fangs" you had developed on the mountain…but look at you now, they are dulling. It's time Inei."
"Time for what Sir?"
"They found ruins Inei, in Johto, that's close to where we picked you up from, ancient ruins, no one's been in there yet, big find. They need people like you. Hunters…survivors like yourself. This following is an order. You are to quit the Active service, venture into the ruins and make the biggest find of the century. For you are an Army Ranger, you lead first and leave last. You go where no one else wants to go. This is your duty, and your credo. Go now!"
"B-b-but sir…"
"Butt's are the things you sit on, now get out of here!"
"Yes Sir", replied Inei, more than confused. Two hours later he was in the bus towards Johto, his trusty Remoraid and Beedrill with him. Shenwood was right…it was too Peaceful.
